Anne Ellen Queen spent 19 years as a leader in the Campus Y, first as associate director and then as director. She always had a bead on the heart of moral issues in the University and the town, and consistently showed a tender heart and an open hand to all who needed her help. As healer and reconciler in disputes, hostess and inspiration to generations of students, friend of high and humble, persistent champion of the right, Queen was fitly honored with a C. Knox Massey Distinguished Service Awards for 1980.
