Kitty M. McCollum was cited for her work in benefits administration. She had developed automated records systems that allowed for quick access in her office and for generating required reports; initiated an annual series of pre-retirement planning seminars; and prepared computer presentations to explain the state retirement system to employees.

“All this she has done while discharging the manifold day-to-day tasks of her office, even to the extent of visiting University employees at home or in the hospital for needed signatures on important documents.”

McCollum joined the University in 1977 in the personnel office before moving to the registrar’s office in 1981. By 1987, her position had become part of the Office of Institutional Research and EPA/Faculty Benefits.
