William C. Lloyd Jr. began his University employment 24 years prior to his award as a laborer with the moving crew and he moved to progressively more skilled assignments regularly since then.

He added to his education and training, passing the state plumbing contractors and water treatment operators examinations and fulfilling the requirements for his high school diploma by passing the equivalency examination for the General Educational Diploma.

He was cited for his superior work, initiative and dedication.

“His knowledge of sophisticated fluid, air and distillation equipment has made him a much-relied-upon supervisor of final inspections of such systems,” his citation read, “and this knowledge has repeatedly saved the University money through correction of errors and poor performance by contractors.”
