At the time she was recognized with a Massey Award, Lucia W. Hudson had been with the University 21 years and had served with four medical school deans. She was cited for her ability to handle the multiple roles of “coordinator, counselor, hostess, organizer, initiator, buffer and diplomat with the outside world.”
The citation said Hudson was a good right hand of the deans with whom she had worked and a “near ideal colleague of the dean, the faculty, the students, the School of Medicine and the University.”
